The EIR program is a year long commitment to create positive engineering experiences for you and your students.

It’s SO. MUCH. MORE. than an engineer dropping by to facilitate a STEM activity with a class.

The EIR program is a network of passionate volunteers that are determined to share their stories with others.

It’s flexible – which is WHY, even amongst so much uncertainty caused by COVID19, this year’s program is JUST. AS. STRONG. AS. EVER.

That strength comes from a grass-roots model.

And, those roots are STRONG!

Our volunteers are not only passionate…..they’re also ENGINEERS (aka, natural problem solvers)!

What’s the problem they’re solving?

How to pivot from in-person EIR experiences, to virtual ones.

For an engineer, that just means they’ve got some new parameters to work with.

No big deal!

Grit, determination, & hard work are values you find in engineers.

We’ve spent the last 4 months researching HOW to create positive engineering experiences for students with these new parameters.

So our engineer volunteers are armed with the tools & data they need to deliver.

Last week we were live with our 2020-21 program participants for a webinar on virtual connections.

What impressed us the most? The amount of sharing and collaboration that happened in that short time!

We heard from engineers that have already been practicing virtual connections.

We learned some best practices, and talked about how to overcome challenges in the virtual environment.

So, when we’re asked…

Is the EIR program still running this year since I cannot have in person visitors?
