#INWED2021 Spotlight: Cassondra Fonseca

Meet Cassondra! Fearless leader of Camp Engies

This week, leading up to International Women in Engineering day (June 23rd), we’re shining the spotlight on Cassondra.

Cassondra has inspired hundreds of girls by (1) being an all around awesome human! And (2) by showing them what’s possible when you connect to your passions.

Cassondra graduated from Queen’s University with a bachelor of applied science in electrical engineering.

She has worked at Hyrdo One for 11 years. Hydro One has been very supportive of Cassondra, her career and her passion to help others.

One of her favorite things to do is volunteer!

She also loves playing team sports (pre-COVID!), and has now been exploring running and snowshoeing.

What’s her passion project?

CAMP ENGIES!

Camp Engies aims to inspire young women to connect and unleash their potential in engineering through engineering activities, speakers and counsellors. Camp Engies is 100% volunteer-powered. Hosted by a team of well-rounded and successful engineering women of various ethnicities and experiences, who will support them throughout their lifetime!

Who is Cassondra’s hero?

Her parents!

Their encouragement, support and positivity inspired Cassondra to follow her passions and become the best, most authentic version of herself.

Join us in amplifying Cassondra’s story!

And stay tuned for next week when we’ll be featuring another engineer for our Women in Engineering campaign.
