Future City Experience is a transformative program that provides equitable access to Canadian students in grades 6 to 8, challenging them to design and build sustainable cities of the future. The program ensures that every class that registers is matched with an engineer mentor, creating opportunities for diverse perspectives and experiences to be included in the learning process.
The 2023 program, “Waste-free future”, reached almost 4000 students, who were supported by close to 200 engineer mentors from diverse backgrounds across the country. This approach fosters inclusion and diversity, helping students see themselves represented in the engineering profession.
The program culminates on May 10th (EN) / May 11th (FR) with a virtual Showcase where students can present their cities to a panel of engineers. Future City Experience offers an adaptable and engaging learning experience that sparks curiosity and creativity in all students, promoting equitable access to STEM education.
